FA Cup so far

Having overcome Burnley in the third round, City picked up an away win at Cardiff City in January to reach this stage, with Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling on target in a 2-0 win.

The hosts entered the competition in round one, beating Crawley Town 2-1. National League side AFC Fylde held them in their next game, but the Latics prevailed 3-2 in the replay and repeated that trick in the third round against Bournemouth.

Further Premier League opposition followed, with the League One side booking their spot in the fifth round with a 2-0 win over West Ham.

Last time

It’s been four years since we last faced Wigan, again in the FA Cup.

Goals from Jordi Gomez and James Perch were enough to send them through to the semi-finals, with Samir Nasri on target for the Blues in a 2-1 defeat.

There are better memories from earlier that season, when City scored five without reply in the League Cup third round.

Stevan Jovetic grabbed a brace, with Edin Dzeko, Jesus Navas and Yaya Toure also on target.
