The pair last met a matter of weeks ago, with City romping to a sensational 6-0 win at the Etihad Stadium.

Sergio Aguero bagged a hat-trick, while Raheem Sterling and Ilkay Gundogan were also on the scoresheet.

The most recent meeting at Wembley saw the pair lock horns in the Community Shield, with City running out 2-0 victors, thanks to an Aguero double.

The Blues also triumphed in the last League Cup fixture - a 1-0 win in October 1993.

Maurizio Sarri preview

“I think that, if you choose Guardiola, you have to wait because the club knows very well that Guardiola needs time.

“In my job, I need the result. Nothing else.”

Pep Guardiola preview

“I don’t like to play one team in short periods of time when you beat them.

“They are professional players and they will go extra.

“When we lost 2-0 at Stamford Bridge we couldn’t accept defeat at home so we will prepare as much as possible.”
