Team news

City

De Bruyne returned to action at the beginning of December after a six-week absence with a knee injury but missed the win at Southampton because of a muscle problem.

Guardiola confirmed his condition is improving and says he will be checked by the Club’s medical staff tomorrow morning before a decision is made on his involvement.

Benjamin Mendy and Claudio Bravo are long-term absentees.

Liverpool

James Milner (hamstring) will face a late fitness test ahead of the clash.

While Joel Matip (collar bone), Joe Gomez (ankle), Dominic Solanke (groin) and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are all sidelined.

Last time

City registered their first ever clean sheet at Anfield back in October, with a creditable goalless draw against Jurgen Klopp’s side.
