City
The Blues will monitor the fitness of captain Vincent Kompany with the defender missing the last few games with a muscle issue.
After featuring for the final 30 minutes in the 1-0 win over Burton in our Carabao Cup semi-final second leg, Benjamin Mendy could take another step on his road to recovery with an appearance against the Clarets.
Goalkeeper Claudio Bravo remains a long-term injury absentee.
Burnley
Nick Pope is in contention to feature in the Burnley goal for just the second time since recovering from long-term injury, while Robbie Brady could feature after serving a three-match ban.
However, Burnley’s official website reports that the game will come too soon for the returns of midfielder Johan-Berg Gudmundsson and defender Matthew Lowton.
Last time out
The pair last met in October, with the Blues running out 5-0 victors at the Etihad Stadium, courtesy of goals from five different scorers - Sergio Aguero, Bernardo Silva, Fernandinho, Riyad Mahrez and Leroy Sane.
The clash marks a repeat of the Third Round fixture of last season’s competition, in which City triumphed 4-1, coming from behind with a stunning second half display.
Pep’s preview
Pep Guardiola says he has a near fully-fit squad ahead of this weekend’s FA Cup fourth-round tie at home to Burnley.
Vincent Kompany remains out, as does long-term absentee Claudio Bravo, but the rest of the first-team squad are available for selection.
And after playing five academy players in the 1-0 win over Burton Albion in the Carabao Cup semi-final on Wednesday, Guardiola says they will not be involved when Sean Dyche’s side visit the Etihad as he looks to play his strongest squad in a bid to remain in all four competitions.
“They [academy players] have to be prepared, just in case,” he said.
“Now, except Vinny, the other ones are fit and everybody can play.
“Tomorrow there will be no players from the academy.
“I always try to put out a strong team. It’s FA Cup against Premier League side like Burnley so we will play with the best team we believe to win the game.
“They players are quite well. We will see today [at training].
“We will make regeneration. Some players have a few problems but I think they will be okay.”
