That’s what today’s headlines are reporting, with plenty of rumours regarding potential arrivals and departures.
The top tale of the day derives from the Daily Express, who believe City are plotting a £63million move for Toni Kroos.
According to Joe Short: “New City boss Pep Guardiola is a fan of Germany international Kroos, who joined Real Madrid from Bayern Munich for £21.5m two years ago.
“Guardiola had tried and failed to keep Kroos in Germany when he was manager of Bayern and is now being eyeing a reunion at the Etihad.
“And the Sunday Mirror claim that could happen if City meet his huge contract clause.
“Kroos has four years remaining on his current Real deal and the club do not want to sell - so City will likely have to meet that clause before negotiating with the player.”
The same source also report a £7.5million bid for Geronimo Rulli is imminent.
An article reads: “City boss Pep Guardiola wants the 24-year-old Argentinian, who has spent the past two seasons with Real Sociedad in Spain, to provide competition for under-fire England number one Joe Hart.”
Elsewhere, the Manchester Evening News, who claim Luis Suarez is open to a switch to the Etihad Stadium in a move worth £85million.
Writes James Robson: “One major stumbling block is Suarez’s wife, who will need to be convinced to leave Spain and return to England where the Uruguayan played for Liverpool for three and a half years.
“Guardiola has just completed the signing of Spain forward Nolito and is also targeting £40m-rated Leroy Sane from Schalke.
“He was linked with Suarez – who is represented by Guardiola’s brother Pere – almost as soon as the former Barca and Bayern manager was confirmed as City’s next boss.
“But it is understood that Nolito and Sane are the Catalan’s only attacking targets in his first transfer window at the club.”
Meanwhile, the Daily Mail suggest Everton are holding out for £50million in exchange for John Stones.
States Oliver Todd: “Stones, 22, is wanted by Pep Guardiola at Manchester City but will only be allowed to move for a price that would make him Britain’s most-expensive defender.
“New Everton manager Ronald Koeman is still to meet with his full squad but Stones is once again emerging a target of the Premier League elite despite not playing a minute for England at Euro 2016 this summer.
“The Toffees rejected four bids from Chelsea, rising close to £40m, for the former Barnsley defender and his stock remains high despite a difficult campaign on Merseyside.
“Barnsley would pocket 15 per cent of any transfer fee and therefore could earn £7.5m on their academy graduate if City elect to splash out £50m on signing Stones.
“Chelsea have again shown interest this summer, while City’s local rivals Manchester United have sniffed around Stones previously.”
In terms of alleged outgoings, ClubCall say Pablo Zabaleta and Aleks Kolarov are poised for pastures new.
Apparently: “City defender Pablo Zabaleta is set to confirm a £3.4million switch to Roma after agreeing personal terms at the weekend.
“The 31-year-old Etihad fan-favourite is poised to bring the curtain down after eight years and winning six trophies, which included two Premier League titles.
“It’s understood the Argentina right-back will pick up wages of £50,000 a week in the Eternal City with further bonuses set to be included.
“Zabaleta’s agents will now conclude talks with City’s officials, with boss Pep Guardiola happy to give his approval for a departure.
“Roma were previously haggling over the size of the transfer fee for a player who has made 300 appearances for the Citizens, although sources close to the deal state the Italian side have been able to find some extra leverage in their budget to now make the numbers work.
“It could be a busy week for departures at City with left-back Aleksandar Kolarov also on the verge of a cut-price deal to join Turkish side Besiktas.”

The New York Post explain: “New York City FC avenged one of the worst beatings in MLS history, and won their first game against the rival Red Bulls, 2-0, in front of 33,613 on Sunday at Yankee Stadium.
“And it was teen rookie Jack Harrison that led the way, scoring the first goal and setting up David Villa for the second.
“Their season-high third straight win also leapfrogged NYCFC (7-5-6, 27 points) over Philadelphia and Montreal into first place in the Eastern Conference.”
