We start off today by heading to the Manchester Evening News and their article about Yaya Toure‘s Wembley heroics.
One of their five national stadium moments discussed is the 2011 FA Cup final against Stoke City, which saw the Blues end their 35-year wait for a trophy.
Stuart Brennan writes: “The final was in one way an anti-climax after beating the Reds in the semi but with 16 minutes left he homed in on a loose ball in the opposition box and crashed his shot through a crowd of players.
“That ended a 35-year wait for a trophy and gave the Blues the winning mentality that would lead to the Premier League title the following year.”
The Daily Mail feature an in-depth interview with Leroy Sane ahead of today’s spectacle, covering a range of topics from his friendship with Raheem Sterling, how Matija Nastasic gave him advice before his move to City and Pep Guardiola’s advice to him.
The German international also speaks about the FA Cup semi-final against Arsenal and how he’s looking forward to the game, as well as speaking with fellow team mates about their previous Wembley experiences.
Sane is quoted as saying: “I’ve never been. The closest was watching Bayern and Dortmund on TV in the 2013 Champions League final there. I am very excited about playing there, looking forward to it. I have been told it is a very big game for all the people in England.

Cox and Clarke state: “City play with tremendous width. Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane should start on either flank here, stretching the play and creating gaps for team-mates to pass through. Their combination play is sometimes mesmeric, particularly when Silva commands play from between the lines.
“I remember for that first goal in the Premier League game, it was impressive how City clipped the ball up to the front to play out from the back. The one-touch pass from
Finally, Kelechi Iheanacho says he is ready to fight for his place in the team in an interview with BBC Sport.
The 20-year old speaks highly about his strike partners and praises his fellow team mates for allowing him to develop his skills each day.
He’s quoted as saying: “Sergio Aguero and Gabriel (Jesus) are really really great players that we need in our team.
“As a young player, I’m happy playing alongside these fantastic players because I learn and get better every day.
“It’s a big thing for my career to compete with these players. I’m okay with the way things are going and I wish Gabriel a quick recovery to return and help the team.”
