The speed, pace and power of the trio has been labelled as ‘the future of Manchester City’ as the Hammers followed Crystal Palace in suffering a heavy home loss to the Blues.
We begin with ESPN who were impressed by the victory over Slaven Bilic’s side – and the stellar trio in particular.
They report: “It turns out Manchester City like the London Stadium. Another dominant display there in the space of a month saw Pep Guardiola’s team boost their top four credentials and send a message to the rest of the league as the club’s front three of Raheem Sterling, Leroy Sane and Gabriel Jesus ripped holes in the home side’s defence.
“City have scored as many first-half goals at the London Stadium as West Ham have this season. Everything went right for City, whose players looked like they really enjoyed their football on Wednesday evening.
“All of their rivals in the top six dropped points and Guardiola’s team barely broke a sweat to win. Sterling, Sane and Jesus were incredibly impressive in both moving to create space and executing their passes or shots, while the defence looked much more settled with Willy Caballero behind it.”
Sky Sports were also fulsome in their praise, with German winger Sane in particular catching their eye as they highlighted some of his game stats.
They write: “Injuries prevented Leroy Sane from making such an instant impact but he has come to the fore in recent weeks too, and was arguably even more impressive than Jesus. Having scored in his previous three appearances, he did everything but get a goal on Wednesday night.
“There was his darting run for the second that left the full-back looking foolish before he showed great alertness to react quickest in intercepting Michail Antonio’s slack pass in the build-up to the third. His pace and purpose mark him out as a player of real quality.
“Indeed, Sane was clocked as the quickest man on the pitch - followed by Jesus and Raheem Sterling. He and Jesus each made a game-high 73 high-intensity runs and no City player made more tackles and interceptions than the German. His coach was ‘delighted’ with him.”
And continuing the theme in the Mirror, former Arsenal legend Ian Wright admits the Blues may have a real gem in Gabriel Jesus.
There have been some comparisons between Wright and the Brazilian in recent weeks and the Mirror report: “Wright understandably picked the teenager out as a star performer from the game, and said he was particularly impressed by his high levels of maturity.
‘He’s a very talented 19-year-old, very talented, when you watch the way he played, it was very mature, the choices he made, the runs he made,’ said Wright.
‘I would like to think yes in the end I learned how to do it, but at 19, he was doing stuff I was doing when I was in my prime at 28.’
Finally, reports in Spain suggest Atletico Madrid have cooled their interest in Arsenal talisman Alexis Sanchez due to his financial demands.
Football London, however, suggest that won’t deter two Premier League rivals from bidding should Sanchez indicate he wants to move on.

“At present, Arsenal have a wage structure in place that will not allow them to offer Sanchez - or anyone else such as his teammate Mesut Ozil, who is also discussing a new deal - more than £170,000 a week.”
