Alleged tales of Man City captures are never far from the headlines and this morning – if you’re a fan of transfer gossip – you’re in luck.
There’s plenty to ponder over.
Kicking off with the Daily Star, Joe Watson claims Serge Aurier is a target for both Manchester clubs.
An article reads: “Aurier, 24, has impressed for Paris St-Germain since joining them permanently in 2015 after spending a season with the then Ligue 1 champions the year before.
“And apparently that’s put him on the radar of both Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola, who are looking for reinforcements ahead of next season.
“Tutto Mercato Web say a ‘derby’ is taking place between both clubs as they look to secure Aurier’s signature.
“Apparently he’s United’s second choice should they fail to sign Benfica full-back Nelson Semedo.
“But Tutto Mercato’s report suggests he’s one of Guardiola’s top transfer targets as he looks to revitalise his ageing defence.”
Elsewhere, the Sun argue the Blues are set to splash £60million on Virgil van Dijk.
Lee Astley reports: “Southampton centre-back Van Dijk has been one of their top players this season and Pep Guardiola wants him as he builds his squad to challenge for the title next season.
“And the Sunday People are reporting that a deal has been struck between the two clubs that will see the Dutchman ear around £200,000-a-week in wages.
“Van Dijk has been wanted by a number of Premier League clubs after his solid performances at St, Mary’s.
“Cheslea and Liverpool are both said to be weighing up bids for the former Celtic defender but the People are claiming City have beat them to the punch.”
Meanwhile, another defender is featured in the Metro, as Louis Sealey believes the Blues are keen on Kyle Walker.
The report states: “Pep Guardiola is believed to be a huge admirer of Walker, making the 27-year-old one of his priority targets ahead of the summer window.
“Walker has become one of the stand-out players for Spurs and England since moving to White Hart Lane in 2009.
“The defender now looks set to end his stay at Tottenham, opting to join Guardiola’s Man City in a deal that will earn him around £100,000-a-week.
“Walker emerged as a target for Chelsea but the Daily Star say his decision to join City stems from his desire to be closer to his family, who live in Sheffield.
“It is claimed talks between the two parties have taken place and that City are ready to match Daniel Levy’s £40m valuation of Walker.”
That’s your lot!
