On to the subject of transfer gossip now and Ajax’s Kasper Dolberg has quashed rumours he is set to leave the Amsterdam Arena, claiming it is too soon for him to be thinking of a move to the likes of City.
Goal (via FourFourTwo) report the quotes from the young forward, which read: “No, it’s too big a step to go to City or United now.
“It’s important to keep on playing, as I don’t know what could happen in the future.
“I have not got a dream league. It’s important which kind of club is keen - in terms of playing style and also how it is at the club.”
Meanwhile, the Daily Mail suggest the much talked about Kylian Mbappe of Monaco will be watched by a host of clubs – including City – when the Ligue 1 outfit face Juventus in the Champions League semi-final.
The Mail’s Matt Barlow writes: “Once again, the world’s wealthiest football clubs are fuelling the executive jets and launching their top talent-spotters in the direction of Monaco.
“Manchester City’s sporting director Txiki Begiristain is expected to be in the Stade Louis II on Wednesday, as are representatives from Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich.”
