Let’s start with a piece of transfer speculation.
The Sun believe Pep Guardiola is keen to bring in a midfielder when the window open in January - and Phil Thomas says Wolves’ Ruben Neves is emerging a strong candidate.
“The Etihad chief has admitted he would look at spending big again in the next window – if the right man was available,” Thomas writes.
“Neves, a sensation in 12 months at Wolves, has been dubbed the Portugese Andrea Pirlo – the Italian legend who is his hero.
“City travel to Molineux next week and had scouts in the ground for the Prem new boys’ first game last week, when Neves scored one and made another in the 2-2 draw with Everton.
“Guardiola wants someone who can do the holding job and Neves – for all his attacking talents – has impressed when he has filled the role.”

Ahead of our first home game of the new Premier League season, the Manchester Evening News have put together their usual pre-match panel on how City should lineup.
And Stuart Brennan believes Huddersfield direct and physical style means Guardiola should bring Vincent Kompany and Nicolas Otamendi back into his starting XI.
“First home game of the season, triumphant return of the Centurions ... and a cussed Terriers team who scrapped hard for a point last season,” he writes.
“This will not be easy, and City will need all their attacking guile to get the home campaign off to a winning start, especially with Kevin De Bruyne out.
“After surprise changes last week, it would seem to be the right time to bring back Vincent Kompany and Nicolas Otamendi, to deal with a more physical threat.
“And while Pep likes to leave Leroy Sane out before unleashing the whirlwind of frustration, now would be a good time to bring him back.”
However, Liam Corless says City’s defence looked so secure at Arsenal last week, there’s no need for any alterations.
“City’s back four contained Arsenal with relative ease and there is no need for Pep Guardiola to make changes in that department,” he writes.
“A home game against Huddersfield is the perfect environment to ease David Silva back into the team, while Fernandinho should anchor the midfield with Bernardo Silva, who was electric at the Emirates, starting in a more advanced position.”
And, finally, Steve Millar, writing in the Star, says Guardiola is ready to give Phil Foden more first-team opportunities this season and has likened Pep’s emergence at Barcelona to that of the Stockport-born midfielder.
“Johan Cruyff knew there was a diamond to be polished when he first clapped eyes on Pep Guardiola at Barcelona,” Millar writes.
“The future Nou Camp star and one day coach was just a kid.
“But Cruyff liked what he saw, asked his name and put Guardiola in the first team – even though some critics claimed that he was too small.
“Now, 28 years on, Man City boss is the giving Phil Foden his full support and approval to see history repeating itself.”
