In your Friday media round-up we find out who Bernardo Silva’s toughest opponent was this season, plus we have the latest transfer news and gossip from the back pages!

First up, we start with Portugal star Bernardo.

The 23-year-old revealed that Southampton full-back Ryan Bertrand was difficult to play against during his debut Premier League campaign with City.

Our winger found himself up against Bertrand during the final game of the season at St. Mary’s Stadium, when Gabriel Jesus scored to make us Centurians!

The Manchester Evening News asked the City star who the most difficult player to pass through was, to which he replied: “Ryan Bertrand, Southampton’s left-back.”

Elsewhere in the papers, the cogs in the transfer rumour mill continue to turn with new names and faces brought up – what seems like every day!

The latest player to be linked with the club is PSV Eindhoven striker Jayden Braaf.

The Daily Mail, who regularly speculate throughout the transfer window, claim that City are “favourites” to complete the signing.

Simon Jones scribes: “Manchester City have beaten off competition from Chelsea to close on a deal for PSV Eindhoven striker Jayden Braaf.

“The Holland U15 international, who turns 16 in August, joined PSV from Ajax four years ago and is regarded as one of his country’s brightest young talents.

“He can play as a striker or off either wing and has drawn comparisons with City’s Gabriel Jesus and Jadon Sancho, now of Dortmund.

“Chelsea believed they had convinced Braaf to join them back in March, fending off interest from Bayern Munich and Manchester United.

“However City have come back to the fore and are now favourites to complete the signing.”

Of course, the only place to find out about our signings this summer is right here on ManCity.com, and we will bring you any concrete information when deals and transfers have been done!

Finally we revealed PFA Women’s Young Player of the Year, Lauren Hemp, as our first signing of the summer yesterday afternoon.

The striker joins the Club from Bristol City, having bagged nine goals in an impressive 2017/18 campaign – including a stunning Goal of the Season contender against Arsenal.

The 17-year-old will wear the number 15 shirt for the Blues and is eager to continue her rapid development with the Club she admires most, working alongside her idols.

“I’m very excited to be here,” Hemp told ManCity.com. “It’s a massive opportunity for me and I can’t wait to get started.

“From a very young age, it’s always been City and to have the opportunity to play here is a dream come true, especially so early in my career.

“The facilities are amazing and the atmosphere seems so nice with the environment and the people. Playing against City for Bristol, I always looked up to the City players and now we’re going to be teammates.

“I can’t wait.”
