According to a report in Calcio Mercato, City are keeping tabs on Lyon striker Maxwell Cornet.
The 22-year-old has scored three times in two games against us this season and that is reportedly enough to have piqued Pep Guardiola’s interest.

And City are also said to be looking at another Lyon star.
Midfielder Tanguy Ndombele delivered a dominant display in Tuesday’s 2-2 draw between the two sides and, according to Naij.com, City are keen to entice him to the Etihad.
However, Barcelona are also competing for his signature.
“Spanish League giants Barcelona are reportedly interested in signing Manchester City target Tanguy Ndombele in January,” writes Oluwatomiwa Babalola.
“The 21-year-old midfielder currently has a deal with French League side Olympique Lyon until the summer of 2023.
“He joined Les Gones on permanent basis from Amiens in 2018 after spending last season at the club on a season long loan deal.
“Ndombele produced an impressive performance that helped his side played 2-2 draw against the Citizens in their Champions League clash on Tuesday night.”
Meanwhile, Tyrone Marshall, writing in the Manchester Evening News, says Guardiola will need to utilise his full squad in the coming weeks.
With City in the midst of a run of 13 games in 44 days, Marshall says it’s vital Guardiola‘s resources are maximised.
“Christmas will pass in a blur for City this year as they prepare for a hectic six-week schedule - and they’ll need to rely on the cavalry,” he writes.
“Starting with the return to action last week from the November international break the Blues face six successive weeks of two games a week, as hectic a schedule as the season will throw up this term.
“That is partly thanks to the tragic circumstances surrounding City’s rearranged EFL Cup quarter-final tie at Leicester City on Tuesday, December 18, which is preceded by two midweek Champions League fixtures either side of next Tuesday’s Premier League trip to Watford, and then is followed by two midweek rounds of league action over the festive period.
“It will leave Pep Guardiola‘s side facing 13 games in just 44 days from the 4-0 win at West Ham last weekend to their FA Cup third round tie, which is likely to be on Sunday, January 6, given they welcome Liverpool to the Etihad on the Thursday before.
“It’s a schedule that is going to prove unsustainable for some of City’s regulars and the fringe players in Guardiola‘s squad will need to come to the fore between now and the first weekend of 2019.”
And, finally, ahead of Saturday’s game at home to Bournemouth, The Express’ Michael Potts says Guardiola’s biggest selection headache is centred around Leroy Sane, who was outstanding in last weekend’s 4-0 win at West Ham.
“The big question hanging over Guardiola‘s selection circles around Leroy Sane,” he writes.
“The German forward was untouchable against West Ham last weekend but it remains to be seen whether he will be deployed ahead of Raheem Sterling or Riyad Mahrez.
“Kevin De Bruyne should return to action before the end of the year but remains a long-term absentee along with Claudio Bravo and Eliaquim Mangala.
“Predicted Manchester City team vs Bournemouth: (4-3-3) Ederson; Walker, Laporte, Stones, Delph; B. Silva, Fernandinho, D. Silva; Mahrez, Aguero, Sterling.”
