CNN have taken a close look at this season’s battle for the trophy – and believe Raheem Sterling could be City’s key player in the run in.
“Defending champion City appears to have stepped up a gear in recent weeks with Raheem Sterling in particularly impressive form,” James Masters writes.
“The 24-year-old, who scored a hat-trick for England in its 5-0 win over Czech Republic last week, also hit three in his last Premier League game to help City secure 3-1 win over Watford.
“Sterling‘s 15 league goals and nine assists have helped City back into contention after Liverpool moved seven points clear at the summit back in January.”

BBC Sport have produced a piece assessing our chances of winning an unprecedented quadruple, with Simon Gleave, head of analysis at Gracenote, saying it is statistically unlikely that City will win all four competitions.
“Our Euro Club Index estimates the chance of City winning the quadruple at around 9%,” he said. “They have a 59% chance of winning the Premier League, a 79% chance of winning the FA Cup and a 20% chance of winning the Champions League.”
And Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson says City hold an advantage over title rivals Liverpool this weekend.
City play first, with a 12.30pm kick-off away at Fulham, before Liverpool host Tottenham on Sunday.
And Merson believes City can apply some pressure on the Merseysiders by striking first.
“This is a nice game for City, they can throw the pressure on Liverpool before they play,” Merson said.
“I’m a great believer of playing first, you always want to take the first shot.”
