Manchester City returned to Premier League action with a vengeance as Pep Guardiola‘s side recorded an emphatic 5-0 win over Burnley at the Etihad.
Sergio Aguero’s 16th minute strike gave City a deserved first-half lead and the Blues further added to our tally after the break with Bernardo Silva and Fernandinho scoring twice within a minute before Riyad Mahrez and Leroy Sane rounded the game off with further strikes.
It was an excellent afternoon all round for the reigning champions with high-flying Chelsea earlier held to a 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge by Manchester United.
And to cap a fine performance, Kevin De Bruyne made his welcome return from two months out injured, coming on as a second-half substitute.
