Manchester City will need to come from behind in their Champions League quarter-final tie, after losing 1-0 away to Tottenham Hotspur in the first leg this evening.
City’s third game in seven days was a tight affair, with neither side seemingly wanting to show their cards too early in the two-legged tie.
It was Raheem Sterling‘s 40th Champions League appearance, and after ten minutes of football and a VAR review, City were given a penalty when his shot hit Danny Rose’s arm.
Sergio Aguero stepped up, but was denied by Hugo Lloris.
Late into the second half, Tottenham winger Heung-Min Son received the ball on the edge of the City box, and after some good individual play, slotted the ball past Ederson to score the only goal of the game.
