Training: Fernandinho returns!

Fernandinho joined in training for the first time this season as Manchester City got back to work within 24 hours of picking up our first piece of silverware.

The Brazilian, who was given extended leave after the Copa America, provided Pep Guardiola with a further boost as preparations for the new campaign ramped up.

And, unsurprisingly, he returned with a smile ahead of Saturday’s trip down to the capital to face West Ham in our Premier League curtain-raiser.

Fernandinho trained alongside the likes of Sergio Aguero and Raheem Sterling, who were in the thick of the action following our 5-4 win on penalties against Liverpool in the Community Shield final.
