It proved to be a joyous end to the season as Manchester City retained the Premier League title with a 4-1 win at Brighton and Hove Albion.
Goals from Sergio Aguero, Aymeric Laporte, Riyad Mahrez and Ilkay Gundogan ensure Pep Guardiola’s side came out on top in one of the most exciting title races in history, finishing one point ahead of Liverpool, who beat Wolves 2-0 in their final game.
It was not plain sailing for City, who fell behind to a Glenn Murray header, but the champions responded in style to become the first club to lift back to back Premier Leagues in more than a decade.
