City roared back into second place in the Premier League with a quite superb 6-1 win at Aston Villa on a record-breaking afternoon for Sergio Aguero.

Pep Guardiola’s side were in irresistible form, especially in a whirlwind first half that saw Riyad Mahrez (2), Aguero and Gabriel Jesus all find the target.

More goals duly arrived after the break with Aguero scoring twce more and so both become the Premier League’s all-time leading overseas scorer on 176 goals, overtaking Thierry Henry and the Premier League’s all-time leading career hat-trick scorer on 12.

The win also maintained our perfect 100 per cent start to 2020 across all competitions and saw us leapfrog Leicester to sit 14 points behind leaders Liverpool.
