Kosovare Asllani insists City are not looking past Wednesday night's crucial trip to Liverpool.

The Swede asserts her side are fully focused on extending their incredible run though, and are certainly not considering taking their foot off the gas.

“It’s a very important game,” she told mcfc.co.uk. “We want to stay on the right track.

“At the moment, we are winning and scoring a lot of goals, and we have not conceded - that is what we want.

“We haven’t played many games so it feels a little strange to have a break coming up but we are not having much time off and we will be putting in hard work in training.

“Now, we are concentrating on getting a win against Liverpool and nothing less. We have played them once already this season so I know a little bit about them - I think the game will be physical.”

While City’s flawless start to the 2016 WSL season has raised some eyebrows, Kosse declared she is not at all surprised.

“It’s been an amazing start but I don’t think it’s a coincidence,” she stated. “We’ve put a lot of hard work in, we have a lot of quality and we are always looking to improve.

We like to have a lot of possession of the ball - we like to own it. That’s why I came to City - I like to play an attacking style and see a lot of the ball.

City have already faced the Reds this season - in the FA Cup on the opening day.

Since then, Asllani has settled well into the English game, and explained her adaptation is down to the similarities between the WSL and the Swedish league.

“Both leagues are very physical,” she continued. “I have found it very similar.

“Apart from the weather, I’m really enjoying my time in Manchester! I like the city and I have a really good relationship with the girls, who have made me feel welcome.

“I’m quite happy with my performance in my first months in England but I always want to better myself.

“As a team, we always want to win and be the best we can be. Let’s go into the break with a good feeling.”
