Following on from the announcement of an official agreement between MCWFC and the Women's Sports and Fitness Foundation, the two organisations will now work together at the Blues' home fixture against Notts County Ladies, to take the partnership to the people of Manchester.

The pre-match event will provide the first opportunity for both WSFF and MCWFC to translate our shared values - namely to get more women and girls to become more active in sport - to fans on a matchday, highlighting the work we’re doing and opportunities we can provide.

As part of the Club’s partnership with WSFF, MCWFC are delighted to announce a programme of work designed to raise awareness of the opportunities available to women and girls through sport.

Both sides will work together to ensure the Club maximises its impact on every female it works or engages with, ensuring each individual has the best experience of football possible - either as a player, coach, fan, referee, journalist, Club accountant or café worker... and everything in between!

City in the Community (CitC) will use cutting edge insight provided by WSFF’s Changing the Game for Girls programme, to improve coaching methods in their delivery of grassroots football to girls in Manchester.

To celebrate the launch of the programme, there’ll be extra pre-match activities on offer ahead of the game against Notts County Ladies on 17 July.

In addition to our usual fanzone entertainment, 20 aspiring female footballers from our FA Player Development Centre will take part in coaching sessions which will include a skill zone area, a shooting inflatable and competitive mini tournament. The girls are currently training once a week to get active and develop their football skills.

On the day we’ll also be holding a raffle, giving female supporters under-16 the chance to win a meet-and-greet session with the MCWFC players at training and receive a new home jersey! Raffle tickets will cost £1. All proceeds will be donated to the Women’s Sport and Fitness Foundation.
