England Women concluded their incredible World Cup journey with victory over Germany to finish third.

Mark Sampson’s Lionesses will return home heroes after a tournament that has captured the imagination of the public at home, and they crowned their time in Canada by winning the third place play-off, beating Germany for the first time in 21 years. 

All five MCWFC representatives played key roles in England’s World Cup campaign, and Lucy Bronze’s superb tournament was capped with a nomination for the Golden Ball award.
