Speaking to mcfc.co.uk on her first day at the Club, the 26-year-old revealed compatriot Jennifer Beattie had encouraged her to make the switch to Manchester.

The pair have represented their country together at senior level since March 2009, when Ross made her debut.

Beattie, currently on loan at Melbourne City, was thrilled her Scotland teammate decided to take her advice and join her in England.

She declared: “I’m delighted with the signing of Jane.

“Having played with her all through the Scottish national team set up, I’ve seen first hand how she works and is a top class professional.

“I’ve no doubt she will be a great addition to the squad.”
