MCWFC v FC Rosengard Academy Stadium Sunday 7 February Kick off, 1pm

MCFC Seasoncard holders and Cityzens can enjoy two games for the price of one at the Etihad Campus this weekend.

Manuel Pellegrini’s men face Leicester City on Saturday and the following day MCWFC take to the pitch at the Academy Stadium for their first pre-season friendly against FC Rosengard.

MCFC Seasoncard holders and Cityzens members can claim their free ticket for this game and be there to witness another moment in MCWFC history as Nick Cushing’s side face European opposition for the first time ever.

Rosengard will provide a welcome continental challenge as MCWFC prepare for their debut campaign in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

The Swedish outfit have won a record-breaking 10 Damallsvenskan titles and can call up the attacking talents of five time FIFA World Player of the Year, Marta.

Widely recognised as the greatest female to play the game, the Brazilian forward boasts an impressive record of 92 goals in 95 games at international level.

Gavin Makel, Head of Women’s Football at MCWFC, is looking forward to the test Rosengard will pose.

He said: “In addition to three domestic competitions we take on a new challenge this year with the Champions League, and preparation for that is key.

“Playing against European sides with the level of experience of Rosengard will be an excellent way to begin our pre-season.”

Sunday’s friendly also gives City fans a first glimpse of new signing Kosovare Asllani.

A pre-season acquisition from Paris Saint-Germain, the Swedish forward adds Champions League experience to the squad and her pace and trickery have drawn comparisons with fellow countryman Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

City’s new number seven is looking forward to showing what she can do in the FA WSL and this weekend is her first chance to display her talents in front of a home crowd.

MCFC Seasoncard holders and Cityzens members can claim their FREE tickets to the game online here, while MCWFC Seasoncard holders will receive their complimentary tickets through the post.

Non Seasoncard holders can purchase tickets for this match at £3 for adults and £1 for U16s.
