The Blues welcome the Swedish champions to the Academy Stadium on Sunday 7 February for their first test against European opposition.
With Nick Cushing’s side having finished the 2015 league season in second place, their maiden Champions League adventure awaits this year.
City and England hot-shot Duggan missed out on the crucial final month of the campaign through injury - but she’s now back in contention and cannot wait to take to the Academy Stadium pitch once again, especially against such prestigious opposition.
“I’m really excited,” she told mcfc.co.uk. “I feel like I’ve had a good pre-season and I’m looking forward to going out there with the team and pulling on the shirt again.
“I love playing against the best teams. When you go to World Cups and European Championships, you play against top level teams and quality players - and Rosengard are no different.
“I’ve played in the Champions League before with Everton and I know playing this type of opposition can be very tough but I believe we have the ability to compete with them.”
Asked on the team’s hopes for the upcoming campaign, the Liverpudlian striker asserted the Blues will be challenging on all four fronts, and believes the new recruits will help to achieve that feat.
“Everyone’s looking forward to the new season,” she continued. “We’ve made some great acquisitions in Kosovare Asllani, Jane Ross and Marie Hourihan - they’ve all come in and settled well.
“I’m excited to form new partnerships, especially with Jane and Kosse. It’s been good out on the training pitch and we’re all looking forward to our first test.
“I think it’s good for the Club that there isn’t an international tournament this year - the players can focus solely on the domestic side.
“The target this year is definitely silverware. We need to prove we can compete with the best teams in all competitions.”
With MCWFC one of the best-supported Clubs in the FA Women’s Super League, the 24-year-old is eager to play in front of the City faithful again.
“I’m looking forward to seeing the fans,” she added, “and seeing how many we can get through the door this season.
“Our last game of the 2015 season against Notts County saw more than 3,000 come to watch, which is a great achievement, but I really believe we can draw in even more supporters.
“A win on Sunday would be a real advertisement of what’s to come from this team.”
City kick-off the new season with a pair of home games against Notts County and Arsenal on 23 and 28 March, and Duggan hopes home advantage could give the Blues a dream start.
“It’s great,” she declared, “especially having them back-to-back. It keeps the games flowing and the fans engaged.
“Hopefully, we can get off to a good start, encourage fans to come along and I know they’ll get behind us for the rest of the season.”
