The Blues took an early lead through Jane Ross and found themselves 4-0 up by half-time after several exceptional strikes.
With the game out of County’s reach, the Blues saw out the second half with a showing that pleased Cushing.
He said: “The performance is always the most important thing to me as the coach. I thought, first half in particular, we were dominant with and without the ball. In the end that it was a really good, hungry performance from us.”
Scottish striker Ross proved to be a thorn in County’s side throughout the match, grabbing her second goal shortly before the break.
Her performance clearly excited Cushing, who said: “I wanted her for two years, she’s a good player and I know what potential she has. Her disappointment when she doesn’t score tells me that she’s hungry to score.
“I think we’ve seen today, her hold up play and her determination to get onto the end of crosses was exceptional. She’s a great player.”
Ross herself was clearly elated with the role she played in the victory too.
The 26-year-old said: “We performed really well in the first half, we were clinical with the chances we created and we worked on that. We went out with a game plan and executed it well.
“I’m really enjoying being here, to score goals is great, to create them is what we do and we’re pleased we’re getting the job done.”
There was one blight on the day for City as defender Abbie McManus was forced off through injury and boss Cushing was unable to comment on how long she may be out.
He said: “I’ll leave the medical team to do what they do best. We have an exceptional medical team here at the Club so I’ll leave it with them and wait for information from them.”
