Manchester City Women's game against Liverpool on Sunday been designated as the Blues' Kick It Out Game of Action.

The fixture will see a host of activity taking place including both teams warming up in Kick It Out t-shirts to celebrate diversity and inclusion in Manchester.

As well as interviews with Kick it Out, we have a very special performance from ‘Every Colour’ choir, whose aim is to celebrate all that’s good about football, promoting positive values to tackle discrimination.

Since 2013, Manchester City Women’s striker, Toni Duggan, has been a Kick it Out ‘Next 20’ ambassador. ‘Next 20’ aims to champion 20 young footballers across the Premier League, Football League and FA Women’s Super League.

The players involved are raising awareness of the organisation by engaging with the younger members of their local community.

“It is a massive honour for me to be an ambassador for such a great organisation,” said Duggan. “I think they do great work on and off the field.

“Sunday’s fixture is a brilliant platform to mark diversity in football and demonstrate that Manchester City continues to work hard to tackle discrimination in football.”

In the lead up to the Game of Action, City in the Community has been working throughout Manchester to highlight the importance of mutual respect in the world of football and to demonstrate how football can empower communities.

This week, City in the Community has hosted several projects to support this including social inclusion sessions, disability awareness lessons in local primary schools, as well as their weekly walking football programme designed to encourage over 50s to get back into football and fitness.

Thank you for helping us celebrate equality and diversity in football.
