The champions were back out on the training pitch on Tuesday though, as they prepare to make history once again when they host Zvezda Perm in the club’s first ever Women’s Champions League game.

The Blues side face the Russian 2009 finalists over two legs – the first on home soil at the Academy Stadium on Thursday (7pm) and the second in Perm on Wednesday 12 October (3pm BST).

Sporting their European training kit for the first time, the team were put through their paces at the City Football Academy on Wednesday morning.

In terms of team news, there were no surprises, with all in attendance bar the injured duo of Megan Campell and Abbie McManus.

Manager Cushing will hold a press conference, previewing the game, alongside captain Steph Houghton this afternoon (1:30pm). It will be streamed on Facebook Live.
