Mark Sampson has recalled Toni Duggan to the England Women’s squad ahead of this month’s international friendlies.

Eight Manchester City Women players have been included in the 23-player squad for the fixtures against France and Spain.

Duggan is joined by Karen Bardsley, Lucy Bronze, Izzy Christiansen, Steph Houghton, Nikita Parris, Jill Scott and Demi Stokes, as Sampson begins his preparations for Euro 2017.

The 25-year-old forward missed out on selection for the Lionesses’ two previous squads as they topped their qualifying group ahead of next summer’s tournament.

City’s octet take on France at Doncaster Rovers’ Keepmoat Stadium on Friday 21 October (kick off 8pm BST), before they travel to Guadalajara, where Spain will be the opposition on Tuesday 25 October (kick off 5pm BST).

Euro 2017 takes place in teammate Tessel Middag’s native Netherlands and England will discover who they will face on Tuesday 8 November.
