It’s safe to say Scotland striker Jane Ross has found the English game to her liking.

The forward’s maiden campaign in the Super League has heralded 13 goals in 20 appearances, ensuring she tops the scoring charts.

Of those strikes, some have been beauties and some have been tap-ins – but one thing is for sure, they’ve all been crucial for City.

We sat down with the Scot to ask which efforts make her top five. In no particular order, here’s what she picked…

City 2-0 Arsenal

The striker’s first for the Club may well prove pivotal in the title race.

City had found it difficult to break down the Gunners, who had been reduced to ten following Jemma Rose’s red card.

The deadlock was broken on 65 minutes and Ross had Toni Duggan to thank for opening her Blue account, after the England star had fought to recover possession and execute a pinpoint – if a little powerful – delivery.

Ross recalled afterwards: “I don’t really remember too much about it to be honest! The cross came in from Toni, who had done really well, and the next minute, the ball was in the back of the net!

“It was my first goal for City and helped get an important three points.”

Notts County 1-5 City

The forward bagged twice in a thumping away win at Notts County – and both were excellent efforts.

The opener arrived as Ross capitalised on a kind deflection and struck with the outside of her foot across goalkeeper Megan Walsh.

It was her first sight of goal and she certainly made the most of it!

Notts County 1-5 City

Ross’ second at Meadow Lane was as impressive as her first.

After Georgia Stanway burst forward and found Izzy Christiansen, the midfielder released the Scot.

The forward took a touch to cut inside before curling a sublime shot into the top corner.

Reflecting on her double, she declared: “It’s always difficult to go there but getting that early goal really settled us and we were able to go on from there.”

Doncaster 0-4 City

One of the most recent in the forward’s collection arrived in record time.

Christiansen and Stanway were involved again as the former gained possession almost straight from kick-off and fed the latter out wide.

Stanway delivered the perfect cross for Ross to head home inside 12 seconds, putting City on their way to a 4-0 triumph.

City 0-2 Birmingham

Showcasing her aerial talents once more, Ross netted a header in the dying seconds to make sure of the points in Solihull.

The Blues held a slender lead thanks to Daphne Corboz’s first-half strike but went in search of a second to kill the game.

Whilst others may have taken the ball to the corner having escaped their marker, Nikita Parris had other ideas and drove forward before crossing for Ross to head into the near post to double the advantage.
