City forward Jane Ross believes that competition from our new signings will help to push her to perform at her best for the club.

Two new attacking players: striker Nadia Nadim and midfielder Julia Spetsmark are set to join the club in the new year, and Ross thinks it will be great for the club.

“I think it’s great to have competition all over the pitch as you’re constantly being pushed as a player by those around you to be your best and be able to perform,” the striker told ManCity.com. “So it can only be good for the club and the players already here.”

The Scot also reflected on City’s incredible season so far, and is focused on keeping up the unbeaten run in the final games of 2017, as the Blues face Birmingham City, Doncaster Rovers and Chelsea before the end of the year.

“We’ve obviously got some big games ahead of us now before Christmas and we will take those games one at a time as they come,” Ross explained. “But we are obviously going into every match really wanting to win and hopefully we will continue that over the upcoming games.

“We’ve got a great team moral and togetherness of the squad. We are all willing to go out there and work harder for each other which is what’s bringing us success.

“There will be games that we maybe don’t perform to the best of our ability, but it’s still important to come out of those games with the three points and the win.

“It’s a long season to go, but if we can continue our form and get those wins when we need them then hopefully it’ll be a success!”
