Manchester City have simply been on fire this season, with a remarkable 100% winning record across all competitions so far.

The Blues don’t show any signs of slowing down before the Christmas break, with fixtures against Doncaster Rovers Belles and Chelsea Ladies fast approaching.

City defender Jen Beattie has commented on the importance of ending 2017 as strongly as possible.

“Yeah, it’s very important to end the year strong,” Beattie told ManCity.com. “It’s a long season, and every game is just as important as each other.

“I mean, teams have been taking points off each other already – Arsenal and Chelsea have dropped points, you just have to keep the consistency but also not look too far ahead and try to keep it one game at a time.

“There’s a really good atmosphere amongst the squad. We’ve won trophies and that’s something we just want to continue doing.

“We’ve got a really good group at the moment and some really exciting young talent.

“It’s just a good group of people and we are proud of that, we are all in it together and just want to win everything for the club.”

After an incredibly successful season last year, City look to continue their trophy-winning success while playing exciting football for the fans.

“Our style hasn’t really changed that much, we’ve always been a really technical team and you trust the guys above to bring in the players with young quality, and they’ve recruited well with Claire Emslie and they’re bring in more players in January,” the defender added.

“We will always try and be the team that plays exciting football – Nick tries to emphasise that every day we train. We want to play exciting football at the Academy Stadium and build crowds – that’s something I love being a part of.

“Being at the back and watch us build out from the technical team makes it more enjoyable in my opinion.”

And on a personal note, the Scot can’t get enough of her football at the moment!

“To be honest I had quite a disappointing summer after doing my ankle ligaments, so at the start of the season I was pretty much fresh and raring to go.

“I’ve just been more than happy to be back on the training pitch, and playing every game.

“So on a personal view I’m really happy with that. I’m really enjoying my football, and enjoying being part of it...winning just tops it off!”
