The Scottish winger has slotted into arriving from Bristol in June, having been at the heart of some of the Blues’ best attacking moves, creating 17 chances.
The 23-year-old netted her first goal for the Club in Thursday’s 6-0 Continental Tyres Cup triumph at Oxford and told ManCity.com she is thriving with her new team.
“I’m delighted to score and get the three points in the Continental Tyres Cup,” she smiled.
“I’m delighted we got the win and I was so glad to get a goal.
“I think it was Megan [Campbell]’s long throw. It was bouncing in the box and it came to me. I just thought: ‘Get it in!’
“I was buzzing to see it hit the back of the net.”
Reflecting on her own form, Emslie continued: “I’ve improved a lot in the couple of months I’ve been here so far.
“The coaches are really pushing me and helping me to understand the game and my role in this team.
“I’m just happy to have got an assist and a goal to show I’m learning. It’s working.
“Credit to Oxford, they made it really hard for us to break them down and get opportunities but once we got the one, we were pretty comfortable.
“It’s amazing to play in a team that possesses the ball. We attack a lot and I’m enjoying playing in this team.”
Once again, City have little time to reflect on their triumph with their second Conti Cup clash this weekend – the visit of Everton at 6pm after the men’s team play Arsenal (2:15pm).
The clash will mark Emslie’s first double header and she cannot wait.
“I’m really looking forward to it,” she added. “We know Everton is going to be a really hard game.
“Our focus now is to recover and focus on them.
“I’m just taking everything in my stride and making the most of it.”
Next up... a Sunday double header! 🙌
