Less than a week into her move, we spoke to the Danish international to find out how she was settling in to life at the Club with the help from her new teammates.
“Everything is going great!” Nadim told ManCity.com. “I’ve been staying at the academy as I haven’t found an apartment just yet, but it’s been really really nice.
“The girls have been so sweet and the training is intense, so it’s nice to be back at it.
“Everyone is really nice – Steph [Houghton] has been great, so has Jill [Scott] and Izzy [Christiansen], they have all been really open-hearted and kind to me.”
The vigorous nature of City’s training sessions was a shock to the system for the former Portland Thorns forward, and she is adjusting to the team practice.
“Actually, I’m really surprised at how intense the training sessions are,” Nadim explained. “I didn’t think they’d be that intense, which is cool because I love the challenge and I love that I’m at a club where I know I’m going to improve as a player and as a person.
“I need to get used to it, because I was like: ‘Woah! This is intense!’ especially as I haven’t been training with a team over the past few months, I’ve been running, lifting and pushing balls instead.
“But I haven’t done any team related practices recently so it’s different - it’s a positive shock, though!”
So, when will we see Nick Cushing’s new signing on the pitch alongside the likes of Abbie McManus, Claire Emslie and Jen Beattie? Hopefully, in the not too distant future, according to Nadim.
“I don’t know when my debut will be, I really have no idea. But, I hope it’s as soon as possible,” the striker added.
“I’m just excited to play those exciting and important games in the League as that’s when the pressure is highest and I love being under that pressure.
“That’s what I’m most looking forward to!”
Nick Cushing’s side are back in Women’s Super League action on Sunday 7 January away to Reading, kick-off at 4pm.
