The Blues travel to Crawley Town to take on the Seagulls on Sunday 21 October, kick-off at 2pm.

City recently sealed an emphatic 7-1 win over West Ham, with Weir opening up the scoring with an exceptional looping effort. But regardless of the Hammers goal margin, the Scotland international states that City’s upcoming clash is a different type of battle.
“When you come back from an international break and get a result like that it’s definitely a confidence boost,” Weir explained to ManCity.com. “Away at Brighton is a different type of test. They’re obviously new to the league and a little unknown but it’ll be different and a great chance to pick up another three points.
“I think we’ve already seen this season that any team can take points from anyone and any game is a big game.
“It shows how competitive the league is getting and every game is tough. But we need to face those challenges if we want to win the title. We can’t be complacent and we will be expecting a tough test. We will have to be on top form to get a result.
“In the last few games we hadn’t started well and gave away sloppy goals so that was something we really wanted to eliminate.
“We started very well and our result against West Ham shows that early goals really can settle you down and make the game a lot easier for us. That’s how we need to start every game.”
Since joining from Liverpool during the summer transfer window Weir has already made her mark on the pitch, finding herself a regular in Cushing’s starting XI and contributing to a number of City’s goals so far.
The Dunfermline-born midfielder has netted three times in her eight City appearances so far, also having a hand in a number of goals – most notably with her spectacular footwork against Birmingham to set-up Nikita Parris’s equalising goal in the FA WSL.
She has certainly impressed boss, Nick Cushing, who described her recent performance against West Ham as a “football masterclass”.
“At the moment I’m just trying to focus on doing as much as I can for the team, whether it’s goals or assisting which is what I came to do. It’s always nice to hear that the manager is pleased with my performance,” Weir added.
“It’s great to score goals and it was a nice goal for me to score against West Ham, but the most important thing was getting the three points, a good performance from the team and some great goals as well.
“Hopefully that can start some momentum now for the rest of the season.”
