11-year-old Leyla Priest was the official mascot for today’s Women’s FA Cup semi-final game against Chelsea after complaining the boys in her local football team would not pass to her.

The Essex youngster, who dedicates four days a week to football, says she was “blanked” at a recent training session, an experience that left her upset and marginalised.

She appeared on BBC Essex’s early-morning show to discuss the situation and we decided to invite her to the game to lead the sides out and give her an experience she will never forget.

Leyla, who was accompanied by her mum, Becky, was also given a full personalised Manchester City kit.

Everyone at City hopes Leyla enjoyed her day!
