The game comes just days after our Continental Cup semi-final win over Chelsea at the Kingsmeadow, where Beckie and Campbell were absent from the squad.

“Janine (Beckie) and Meg (Campbell) are just back from injury and the semi-final (of the Continental Cup) came too soon,” the City boss explained. “But they will be in squad on Sunday whether it’s in the starting line-up or on the bench.
“Abbie (McManus) isn’t ready yet. The level of the game has come too soon for her.
“We want to put freshest team out, I’m sure Chelsea will change their team. We will put our best team out and the good part is we’ve got a great competitive squad and everyone deserves to play at the minute.
“We will pick the 11 who will win that game and we’ve got 21 players who all deserve to play.”
After winning last season’s title, Chelsea now sit third in the WSL table, six points behind Cushing’s side. When asked about a change in the West London-side’s form, our manager had nothing but praise for Emma Hayes and her team.
“I’ve got huge respect for Emma (Hayes) and what she’s achieved,” Nick added. “They’re a great team and I’ve got immense respect for Chelsea.”
“Just because we beat them in Continental Cup doesn’t mean we will beat them on Sunday.
“We need to forget that we’ve won the other game and just need to focus on putting ourselves on pitch in best form we can.”
Nick Cushing’s side kick-off our double-header at the Academy Stadium at 1pm before Pep Guardiola’s Blues take on Chelsea in the Premier League over at the Etihad at 4pm.
Speaking about the big day, Cushing said: “It gives the club opportunity to do what we do and is a good opportunity for fans to capture two good games of football.
“Both City teams are top of league and that’s because at this club we’ve got good people and processes.”
