Walsh started the comeback with a powerful low drive past Kirstie Levell, before Janine Beckie and Nikita Parris secured the three points.

Speaking after the win, the centre-midfielder discussed the improvement in City’s performance after half time.

“I think we started a bit slowly in the first half, I think it took us a while to get into our rhythm.” Walsh explained. “But I think we started sharply when we came back for the second half, and we took the game to them [Everton] and we got the three points which is what we came to do.”

“We got to grips with it in the second half, thats when we started to play the way we wanted to and it showed by getting three goals”

The win means City stay top of the WSL, two points ahead of second place Arsenal.

“It’s a big result, and it shows we have a lot of strength in the squad.”

With a cup final to look forward to this weekend, Nick Cushing made full use of said strength.

“We made some changes tonight.” Walsh added. “Even when we were behind we came back which shows good character, and we can take that into the game on Saturday.”
