The Blues leapfrogged Arsenal to clinch the number one position following a 3-1 win over West Ham, maintaining our unbeaten status in the league.
But with a busy fixture calendar and plenty of games left this season, Cushing says that his side will not focus too much on their top-spot, having learnt lessons from previous seasons.

“We’ve done well this season, even in those games against Bristol where we dropped points,” the boss explained after the win. “We know we are in form, but we just need to make sure that we keep pushing hard.
“Over 2016/17 and 2017/18 campaigns, this team have learnt a lot of lessons. We know that we are top in January and there’s a long way to go.
“Players will go on international duty now and then when they come back we will prepare for a difficult home game against Brighton.”
With testing conditions and hunger from the Hammers, the manager was delighted with his team’s execution of the match.
“Really happy with the win,” Cushing added. “Obviously we come to try and win every game we can and we knew it would be a difficult game today.
“We knew they’d be motivated after being beaten by Manchester united earlier in the week as well, so we wanted to make sure we played out game plan well, and I thought the girls did that today and were very smart.”
