England produced a stunning display in Le Havre to overwhelm Norway 3-0 and so reach their second successive World Cup semi-final.

And for City midfielder Jill Scott, amongst others, it was a special night to savour as our picture illustrates.

Scott, who earlier this week became England’s most capped player at a World Cup finals, got Phil Neville’s side off to the perfect start in their quarter-final clash, brilliantly converting a third minute goal for the Lionesses.

And with new club colleague Ellen White claiming her fifth goal of the tournament to go level top in the race for the Golden Boot, and Lucy Bronze also on target it was a night to remember all round.

England will meet the winners of Friday’s quarter-final between France and the United States in next Tuesday’s semi-final in Lyon.
