The striker’s first-half hat-trick helped the Blues to a 3-1 lead at the break before Demi Stokes added a fourth just before the hour.

But a Fara Williams penalty and Kirsty Pearce’s close-range 87th minute effort made for a nervy final few minutes for the travelling City faithful.
Nonetheless, Parris believes her teammates weren’t phased by Reading’s late rally: “We were in control - there was just a lapse in concentration to be fair in the goals, but we got the result.
“I thought we played unbelievably to come from 1-0 down to win 4-3.”
The forward’s 40-minute treble - courtesy of three clinical finishes inside the box - and nice linkup play for what proved to be Stokes’ winner, also capped off an incredible individual performance for Parris.
And while taking pride from her rich vein of form in front of goal, she was also keen to emphasise that she wouldn’t be sitting back and basking in her achievements.
She revealed: “I always feel like I’m going to score, I’m making a good run of form, but I also feel like I need to improve in areas.
“Today I took every chance I got so if I don’t do that in the next game it means nothing from today, so I need to continue that form.”
The Blues now have a quick turnaround as they prepare to face Liverpool in the last eight of the Women’s FA Cup at the Academy Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
But despite a change in competition, Parris insists that the team’s approach to any game remains the same, irrespective of whether they’re fighting for the league title or battling it out in the cup.
She said: “Win, that’s all the focus is, win every game and see where it gets us at the end of the season.
“I feel like we go into every game to win the game we’re an offensive team and defensively strong. We’re not looking over our shoulder, we only look forward.”
