Steph Houghton and Pauline Bremer have been nominated for September's PFA Bristol Street Motors WSL Player of the Month Award.

The pair have played integral roles, as City have hit the ground running in the 2019/20 campaign, maintaining a 100% record with six wins from six, 20 goals scored and just one conceded.

Last season’s domestic Cup double winners sit joint top of the league, having also secured progression to the Champions League Round of 16 with an astonishing 11-1 aggregate triumph over Lugano and kicked off our defence of the Continental Cup with a 5-0 win over Leicester.

Bremer stands as top scorer with seven goals in all competitions, including brilliant braces against Lugano, Reading and Leicester, while with five clean sheets, Houghton has also been influential.

In addition, the skipper guided City to all three points in the win at Everton last time out, writing her name onto the scoresheet with a trademark cleverly-placed free-kick.

Recognised elsewhere for her superb September, Bremer also earned a nomination for the FA WSL’s Player of the Month and an inclusion in City’s Nissan Goal of the Month with her delightfully chipped effort in Switzerland, alongside Caroline Weir’s thunderbolt Manchester Derby match-winner.

Voting for the September PFA Bristol Street Motors WSL Player of the Month Award starts at 3pm on 11 October until 8am on 14 October. Good luck to our two nominees!
