The lifelong City fan has put pen to paper on a three-year deal, committing her future to the end of the 2022/23 campaign.

Walsh, 22, has been a mainstay in midfield since breaking into the senior squad as a teenager, proving the engine in the City machine which has secured three Continental Cups, two FA Cups, a league title and successive Champions League semi-finals since her debut in 2014.
Regarded as a pivotal member of the squad by her peers and former manager Nick Cushing, Walsh is one of the brightest talents in the English game – admired for her technical ability, passing accuracy and Mancunian grit.
Rochdale-born and Blue through and through, the England star is excited to be representing her childhood Club for years to come.
“It’s amazing,” she smiled. “It’s important I’ve renewed my contract with the Club I grew up supporting. It’s a special moment for me in my career.
“I still have to pinch myself a little bit sometimes when I’m in and around the building and in training.
“There’s nowhere else I’d rather be. I feel confident playing here, I seem to play well every game and the team are playing well.
“The team are in a good place at the top of the league and if we can keep going and keep the momentum rolling, there’s no reason why we can’t finish strongly at the end of the season.
“You naturally improve, playing with top players. I’ve played for City since I was 17, alongside the best players in the world. I’m quite lucky.
“For me now, it’s about pushing on and taking ownership of other people’s game, helping them to improve – being more of a leader in the team.
“I’m really happy to have put pen to paper.”
One of the Club’s longest-serving players, Walsh has clocked up 142 appearances in sky blue, scoring five goals, including a long-range effort in the 2019 FA Women’s Cup Final against West Ham.
In addition to securing more silverware, the midfielder hopes to add more goals to her collection, targeting what would be one very special strike against Manchester United!
“Scoring more goals – that’s something I probably need to work on,” she added.
“Georgia Stanway is always giving me a bit of banter because she’s the Goalscoring Queen! She tells me to take more shots.
“I’m trying to hopefully get one in the Derby! That’s my aim!
“My improvement overall is to get more assists and goals – that’s what wins games and helps the team so that is important for me.”

“At only 22, she is producing performances that are far beyond her years and is developing not only into a world-class player, but a leader on and off the pitch, complementing the other strong voices we have within the squad.
