The hard work begins now!

City’s pre-season preparations ramped up several notches in North Carolina on Tuesday, with a double training session in Raleigh for the Women’s International Champions Cup.

Unfortunately, a planned third session of open training fell victim to the inclement weather, as thunder and lightning rolled in.

The squad had familiarised themselves earlier in the day with the surroundings at WakeMed Park, where Nick Cushing‘s cup double-winning side will face the North Carolina Courage to determine who will reach the Final and who will compete in the Third-Place Play-Off, facing either Lyon or Atletico Madrid.

City kick-off the 2019/20 Super League campaign with a mouth-watering first professional Manchester Derby on Saturday 7 September at the Etihad Stadium.

The WICC provides excellent practice for another campaign in which City will once again be competing on all four fronts.
