Our Belgian midfielder has two goals on the shortlist as he helped us maintain our challenge for a record-breaking fourth successive title in a month where we won all five matches.
His opening strike in the 4-2 victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park is the first nomination.
De Bruyne scored a brilliant equaliser from the edge of the box, whipping a fierce right-foot shot into the top corner.
It was his 99th goal for City and he brought up a century later in the game with another powerful strike as we secured a crucial three points.
But his second nomination is for his opening goal in the 4-0 victory over Brighton.
VOTE FOR DE BRUYNE OR KOVACIC HERE
His powerful finish into the top corner was his first ever headed goal in the Premier League.
And it is typical of De Bruyne’s quality that when it arrived it would earn a place on the monthly shortlist.
He is joined there by Kovacic for his thumping effort in the victory over Luton Town at the Etihad Stadium.
The Croatian spectacularly smashed a cutback from Julian Alvarez into the roof of the net from just outside the box giving keeper Thomas Kaminksi no chance in our 5-1 win.
They are up against goals from Alexis Mac Allister, Kobbie Mainoo, Matheus Cunha, Cole Palmer and Jeffrey Schlupp.
Voting for the April winner of the Premier League Goal of the Month will close at 12:00 (UK) on Monday 6 May, with the winner to be announced on Friday 10 May.
You can vote for either of De Bruyne’s goals or the strike from Kovacic here.
