Pep Guardiola’s side visit north London on Sunday 8 October buoyed by maintaining our 100% start to the defence of our Champions League crown last time out with a 3-1 win over RB Leipzig.
But we’ll be aiming to return to winning ways in the league at the Emirates Stadium after we fell to a narrow 2-1 defeat to Wolves in our previous Premier League assignment.
However, doing so will be no easy task against a Gunners side who currently sit third in the league table after their comprehensive 4-0 win over Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium in their last league outing.
Last time City locked horns with Mikel Arteta’s side in the Premier League, goals from Kevin De Bruyne (two), Erling Haaland and John Stones helped us to a crucial 4-1 victory en route to our third successive title.
In our previous meeting with the Gunners, though, it was our opponents who came out on top with a penalties success in the Community Shield after a 1-1 draw at Wembley.
With the meeting in the capital our last before the October international break, there are plenty of decisions FPL managers need to make ahead of Saturday 7 October’s 11:00 (UK) deadline.

CITY STAR
A visit to Arsenal in Gameweek 8 gives Julian Alvarez (£7.0m) the chance to continue his fine early-season form in Fantasy Premier League.
The City forward sits just eight points off the top of the player standings on 46 points thanks to his many routes to returns.
He has produced three goals, five assists and eight bonus points to place sixth in the overall rankings.
The underlying numbers further highlight Alvarez’s all-round style of play.
His 22 shots and 19 chances created both sit among the top five players in 2023/24 Fantasy.
The Argentine’s share of set-pieces is another factor in his favour, as shown by his goal from a direct free-kick against Wolverhampton Wanderers last weekend.
ONE TO WATCH
Bukayo Saka (£8.7m) is the hosts in-form player, the midfielder has attacking returns in six of Arsenal’s seven matches so far.
DIFFERENTIALS
Elsewhere, Tottenham Hotspur full-back Pedro Porro (£5.0m) and Crystal Palace talisman Eberechi Eze (£6.2m) are low-owned assets who have good fixtures.
Porro visits Luton Town on the back of his second assist of the season against Liverpool in Gameweek 7.
Eze also registered his second attacking return of 2023/24 last weekend, assisting the Eagles’ winner against Manchester United.
