Pep Guardiola says he won’t know until after Tuesday afternoon’s training session whether Erling Haaland will feature against Arsenal.

Our Norwegian striker came off at half-time against Aston Villa on Sunday after picking up a knock.

The boss explained at his post-match press conference that it was decided best not to take a risk with Haaland with City 3-0 up at the time.

Fears were allayed somewhat when Erling joined the squad at the CFA for Monday’s recovery session, but he will be assessed again after Tuesday afternoon’s session.

At his pre-Arsenal press conference, the boss said: “We train this afternoon. Right now I don’t know.

“Yesterday was about recovery from Aston Villa. That’s all.”

Guardiola said that on Sunday that if there was even the slightest risk, he wouldn’t risk his top scorer at the Emirates.

More reaction from Pep’s press conference will follow on mancity.com shortly…
