Pep Guardiola has made four changes to his City side to face Atletico Madrid at the Seoul World Cup Stadium in South Korea.

Due to heavy rain in Seoul, kick-off has been delayed by 40 minutes.

We have been in fine form during our tour of Asia so far, beating Yokohama F. Marinos and Bayern Munich in Tokyo before travelling to Seoul.

HOW TO FOLLOW CITY’S 2023 ASIA TOUR

Ahead of returning to Manchester overnight, Guardiola has named Erling Haaland, Aymeric Laporte, Rodrigo and Phil Foden in the starting lineup for the first time on tour.

They replace Nathan Ake, Mateo Kovacic, Rico Lewis and James McAtee from the team that edged past the Bundesliga champions on Wednesday.

It’s our final assignment before we face Arsenal in the Community Shield at Wembley Stadium next Sunday.

Teams

CITY XI: Ederson, Walker (C), Stones, Dias, Laporte, Rodrigo, Bernardo, Foden, Grealish, Alvarez, Haaland

Subs: Ortega Moreno, Carson, Phillips, Ake, Cancelo, Kovacic, De Bruyne, Gomez, Akanji, Perrone, Bobb, Palmer, Lewis, McAtee

ATLETICO MADRID XI: Oblak, Azpilicueta, Soyuncu, Witsel, Hermoso, De Paul, Koke (C), Lemar, Griezmann, Lino, Morata

Subs: Grbic, Niguez, Depay, Correa, Llorente, Galan, Carrasco, Barrios, Gomis, Gismera, Kostis, Martin, Mourino, Riquelme

Tactics

Ederson will be protected by a back four of Kyle Walker, John Stones, Ruben Dias and Aymeric Laporte.

Although you can certainly expect Stones to step up into the deeper midfield slot alongside Rodrigo.

Ahead of those two will be Phil Foden and Julian Alvarez down the middle, Bernardo Silva out on the right and Jack Grealish on the left.

Erling Haaland will lead the line from the start for the first time on tour.

Change of scenery

This is City’s only match in Seoul during our tour of Asia.

We enjoyed our time in Japan, winning both games, and have become used to similar hot and humid weather in South Korea.

However, as we head into Sunday evening in the capital, the weather has turned and heavy rain is falling on the World Cup Stadium pitch.

It certainly won’t put the 66,000 fans off however.

Tickets for this one sold out incredibly quickly and City shirts have been seen all over Seoul since we landed here on Thursday.
