Departing after six-and-a-half seasons in the sky blue, we take a look back at Aymeric Laporte’s City career in pictures.

It’s been quite a ride for the defender following his January 2018 acquisition from Athletic Bilbao midway through Pep Guardiola’s second season.

Laporte’s City career got off to a winning start with a 3-0 victory over West Bromwich Albion, just one day after his transfer was confirmed.

He settled quickly and produced a series of impressive displays, playing 13 times and ending his debut season with Premier League and Carabao Cup medals.

He excelled in 2018/19 and was one of the standout performers as City swept the board domestically, making 51 appearances and starting in the Community Shield, Carabao Cup and FA Cup wins.

Laporte missed much of the 2019/20 campaign with injury, but returned for the 2020/21 season, making 27 appearances in all competitions.

He made 44 starts in the 2021/22 season as City clinched a fourth Premier League title in five seasons.

And across 2022/23, Laporte made eight league appearances - winning seven and drawing one - helping City win our third consecutive Premier League title.

The following month, Laporte added the FA Cup to his list of accolades for a second time after City beat Manchester United 2-1 in the final in which the defender featured as a substitute.

And to top it off, the Treble would follow at the end of the campaign as we beat Inter 1-0 in the Champions League final in Istanbul.

The Spanish international began the 2023/24 season by winning his 13th trophy with City as he was part of Guardiola‘s Super Cup winning side following our penalty shoot-out victory over Sevilla.
