Bernardo Silva has been voted the Etihad Player of the Month for a THIRD successive month by City fans.

It’s the first time the monthly Etihad Club award has been won three times in a row, with Bernardo scooping 48% of the overall votes polled.

Joao Cancelo again pushed his international team-mate all the way with 35% of the votes cast and Rodrigo collected a healthy 17%.

Having won the September and October prize, the Portuguese play-maker’s scintillating form shows no signs of dimming after he started December with three goals in two games against Aston Villa and Watford.

With so many players in top form of late, winning the award again is quite an accolade.

Cancelo and Rodrigo would have also been deserving winners, and last month, Kyle Walker was again superb, Raheem Sterling impressed throughout and is back among the goals and Riyad Mahrez’s standout display against PSG in particular could have all seen them nominated.

And that’s not even mentioning Ederson who tops the Premier League clean sheets list, Ruben Dias, Aymeric Laporte, Gabriel Jesus… the list goes on.

Kevin De Bruyne, Phil Foden, Johns Stones and Jack Grealish all missed sizeable portions of November through illness or injury and will be looking to muscle in on the vote for next month after impressive starts to December.

Pep Guardiola recently praised his players’ collective teamwork, suggesting awards are nice but they are the result of the efforts of the team as a whole.

He has also been effusive in his praise for Bernardo, saying: “You have to go back to when we won (the title) with 98 points, review the videos, you will see the same player like this right now.”

So, congratulations to Bernardo on this unique hat-trick of Etihad Player of the Month wins.

Can he go for the quadruple in the December vote or will somebody else take the prize?

Thanks to the huge numbers of you who voted.
