Each of our four leading sides lifted a major honour back in the spring, with the first team, Elite Development Squad and Under-18s all claiming the Premier League title at their respective level.
It was the second time in two years that we had achieved this previously unprecedented standard.
Those three triumphs came after we had sealed the Continental Cup in the women’s game, defeating Chelsea 3-1 at AFC Wimbledon’s Plough Lane back in March.
These successes saw us receive the highest number of nominations across the different categories at October’s Ballon d’Or ceremony and in turn earned us the Club of the Year honour.
Off the pitch, there were exciting signings with Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez, now a World Cup winner, bolstering Pep Guardiola‘s attacking options.
Stefan Ortega Moreno, Manuel Akanji and Kalvin Phillips also arrived to provide competition for places in the squad.
Gareth Taylor oversaw a number of changes to his side with international stars Deyna Castellanos, Yui Hasegawa and Kerstin Casparij just some of the players to arrive in Manchester.
The summer included a tour of US cities Green Bay and Houston with matches against Bayern Munich and Club America played in front of vast crowds.
One player to make a splash on that trip was Academy graduate Rico Lewis. Just 17 at the time, the Bury-born full-back is now working to cement his place in Guardiola‘s side and has starred in recent wins over Liverpool and Leeds United.
Now we look towards 2023, when all of our sides will be hoping to challenge for yet more silverware.
